It’s a privilege to meet you!

About me- I’ve been a professional artist for the last 10 years. In that time I’ve sold paintings to collectors across the country, worked on massive commissioned projects, and collaborated with well known brands like Disney, Ford, and Chevrolet.

I would love to share with you a glimpse of the breadth and depth of this earth's awe-inspiring beauty, translated in oil paint and canvas. 

A little about me:

I grew up in Virginia and showed promise in art from an early age. I was always the kid in class who drew. I would cover the inside of my notebooks and school books with drawings and doodles. On the weekends, I created art in my room. 

In highschool I decided to take art more seriously, realising this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to professionally. I became obsessed with the idea of going to Hollywood and getting hired on as a concept artist for all the big movies, convinced that was my ultimate goal.

Between high school and my formal education as an art student, I traveled abroad extensively, visiting and experiencing the people, culture, and landscapes of Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Nicaragua, and Chile, to name a few. My little perspective of what the world was like was blown wide apart by these experiences and fostered a love for the breathtaking beauty of the world. I couldn't get enough.

Even so, I entered into art school with that same goal in mind- become a digital concept artist in hollywood. But after earning a degree in Illustration and Media Arts taught by former hollywood concept and special effects artists, I quickly realized the glamorous life of a digital artist with my name in credits on the big screen might've been enticing and flashy, but it ultimately wasn't where my passion for art lay. I was a representational painter at heart, in love with creation, the old masters, and the merit of craftsmanship in oils. 

I fell into the life of a professional artist shortly after I finished university and then discovered a fondness for plein air, and in recent years I moved to Kansas City to be with my sweetheart Tessa, who I’ve been married to now for 7 years. We have two beautiful daughters, two goofy dogs, and a very judgemental cat.

It’s been a wild and fulfilling journey so far, and I'd be honored if you would share it with me as I continue forward!
